Our Association was founded against all fashion and trends propagating only sport karate. We wanted to continue Shotokan karate traditions. After JKA European Championship held in 1999 in Poland, a group of few people decided to cooperate together to continue their achievements in that field. All our instructors disseminating this idea are proud to wear black belts received from Japanese masters and gained their skills from such remarkable people as: T. Kase, K. Enoeda, H. Shirai, M. Yahara, K. Abe, M. Kawasoe, T. Naito, A. Isaka, E. Maeda ( Sensei Kawasoe Norio is also among them). Four of our instructors are registered in the WKSA (currently Shotokan Ryu Kase Ha). During our search, we decided that we should join one big international organisation in order to draw from experience of the best instructors associated in one organisation. By participating in seminars led by SKI masters (Shotokan karate-do International) such as sensei Kanazawa Hirokazu (during the World Championships in Milan), N. Kawasoe, R. Koga and S. Tanaka, we had a chance to notice that these instructors are closest to our vision of shotokan. And that is why we got interested in joining SKIF. Our activities are mainly directed to children and youth. They make the most numerous group of karate trainings participants/ For them every year we organize summer sport camps, where they can intensively practice and integrate with groups from other cities. They also participate in competitions organized by us and other club in Poland. Since July 2003 in junior groups and in Junior Karate Academy we have implemented programme we had received after the summer course in Reid, Austria, where four members of our Association received black belts. This program is regularly discussed and consolidated during training sessions led by Piotr Kowalski for instructors from Poznań, and other training centers in Wielkopolska. During this years we have built everything from scratch and we managed to build solid foundation, based on groups with different advancement level and full range of age: 6 years old children, students (at present there are also trainings for people after 30). All of them have an opportunity to train with qualified and experienced instructors |
